  • the Piazza Restaurant precinct,
  • two supermarkets – Coles and Aldi.

Prefer more of a village feel? You’ll soon be known by name at Round Corner, Dural. This delightful meandering street mall includes a Post Office, butcher, greengrocer, baker, some independent fashion stores and a Woolworths supermarket.

Need milk? Want a pizza? Glenhaven Shops and Knightsbridge Shops are local pit stops for the stuff you forgot or for a takeaway dinner.

The great outdoors
is on your doorstep

At Dovedale Estate getting close to nature is easy. The area abounds with parks, reserves, walking tracks and cycle ways – from paved paths suitable for prams and the disabled, to steep tracks with rocky climbs for those who want more of a challenge. Feed the ducks at Fagan Park, 55 hectares of undulating hills, including 11 themed gardens. Loose yourself amongst the towering trees and ferny gullies of Cumberland State Forest. Walk off the stress of the work week along the 6 km Baulkham Hills Heritage Trail. And this is just the start – The Hills Shire Council website has details of over 20 different local walks.

Coffee culture that’s stimulating

Yes, café culture does exist outside of the inner west. The list of excellent eateries close to Dovedale Estate is extensive. Wildpear Cafe, set above a nursery in Dural, is a local favourite for breakfast, lunch, or anything in between and Wolfe & Co, Dural does a burger that will quickly kill those hangries. The Tuckshop at Glenhaven or the Local Bean at Knightsbridge are perfect place for a coffee and catch up after dropping the kids at school.

Stop stalling and visit a market

Foodies will love the Castle Hill Farmers and Fine Food Market with its country vibe and abundance of fresh local produce, held at Castle Hill Showgrounds twice a month.

Alternatively, try the Rouse Hill Organic Food and Farmers Market, on every Saturday at Rouse Hill Town Centre. The undercover Parklea markets is a bargain buyers mecca and the North Rocks Market, held weekly, is the place to uncover that vintage find or browse for second-hand books.
